Confirmation 2020

Opportunities for parish service hours can be found HERE

Dear Confirmandi and Parents,

This is a very exciting time for you who are receiving Confirmation and for your parents. Up to this point your parents made the decisions regarding your faith. As you prepare for Confirmation you are preparing to make adult decisions regarding your own faith.

There are many parts in preparing for Confirmation; learning more about your faith, learning more about the life of Jesus, learning more about your Church and learning more about the people who helped make the Church what it is.

Another very important part of preparation for Confirmation is our service to others; how we reach out to others in need, how we take an active part in the life of our parish and our Church. This parish requests 25 Service Hours beginning in 7th Grade and ending before Confirmation in 8th Grade.

In discussion with the Director of Religious Education and priests of the parish 15 Service Hours would be community based and 10 service hours will be parish based. What that means is taking an active role in the life of the parish and parish liturgies.

*you may do all parish hours within the participation of mass-but the required about is 3 mass hours.

*Being an aide at the Religious Education classes will fulfill your community service hours plus 7 parish hours. At times you may be able to fulfill your mass hours during CCD events.

*Altar serving for individual class masses give 30 minutes of service hours

I would like to leave you with this quote from Matthew 25:40 And the King will answer, “In truth I tell you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.”
